happy trails candle co.
Since smell is so directly correlated with the memory, I decided to go in a more sentimental direction and package a candle kit inspired by one of my closest friends. She is a gentle, kind person who is very lovely to be around + loves a cozy abode with candles. Smell and candles being correlated is self-explanatory, but the design behind the candles is entirely based off my friend Caroline and memories throughout our friendship. The kit includes four beautiful candles and a set of matches. The hope was to make something that Caroline herself would pick out in some place like Target or Anthropologie. Each candle is assigned a specific scent directly related to conversations, walks, coffee, and everything that has to do with Caroline P.!

PROJECT DETAILS
The color scheme was based off Caroline’s favorite colors (which are many!) and the patterns created for the project had Southwestern influence. Caroline loves asbolutely anything desert or southwestern designed, so I wanted to be sure I included that. Every aspect of the design went through a mental funnel of whether it had to do with Caroline and our memories so that the project wouldn’t stray off that concept.
THE FINAL PRODUCT
After developing patterns, color schemes, and branding, I created a candle kit box, booklet, and matchbook that all came in one set. The box included the patterns as well as the candles, while the booklet incorporated custom illustrations and copywriting that represented certain memories with Caroline. The matchbook is tucked in the box—a great match for your candles!
